Cyberbullying: From Bystander to Protector
How to use your digital influence to stop a harassment cycle.
THE DYNAMIC
Cyberbullying thrives on an audience. If people like or share the bullying post, the bully feels they have more power.
HOW TO HELP
1. Do Not Interact: Never reply to the bully. Even an angry reply helps the post spread further in the algorithm.
2. Private Support: Message the person being targeted privately to check on them. A simple message can prevent long-term mental health issues.
3. Document and Report: Take a screenshot for evidence and report the post to the platform. Most platforms in 2026 have a Duty of Care to remove these posts.
